The futuristic project of the luxury airplane-hotel: the Sky Cruise Hotel

The futuristic project of the luxury airplane-hotel: the Sky Cruise Hotel

The Sky Cruise Hotel is the exclusive futuristic luxury aircraft designed by artist Tony Holmsten and developed by science writer and YouTube creator Hashem Al-Ghaili to revolutionize the way of traveling, merging a luxury hotel with a cruise capable of flying with huge dimensions and powered by nuclear energy.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

What is the Sky Cruise Hotel, the flying luxury cruise

Compared to the Sky Cruise Hotel, both the most luxurious planes in the world and the best first-class flights on the planet may turn pale. Fortunately for the latter, however, the futuristic flying cruise conceived eleven years ago by artist Tony Holmsten and recently developed by science popularizer and YouTube creator Hashem Al-Ghaili, does not yet exist. The Sky Cruise Hotel, in fact, for the moment exists only online, through a video animation published by the Yemeni scientist-youtuber and entitled "Sky Cruise". The project, which refers precisely to the now outdated creation of Holmsten, has today been transformed into a concept of an extra-luxury aircraft powered by an electric propulsion based on nuclear fusion, capable of accommodating up to 5.000 passengers, but above all capable of operate without any need for refueling, thanks to twenty electric motors powered by small nuclear reactors, which would allow it to never have to refuel and therefore never land for technical reasons. It would therefore be a totally ecological and self-sufficient vehicle, but not only.

The futuristic project of the Sky Cruise Hotel also includes an Artificial Intelligence system capable of controlling the different phases of the flight and a cutting-edge anti-turbulence technology (ANC) designed to compensate for shocks (with a function similar to that of technologies for 'elimination of background noises), even allowing to fly without the pilot, as well as without land maintenance interventions, which would be carried out at high altitude, together with the refueling of supplies from an electric commercial aircraft. In short, this flying luxury hotel could take off to never land, allowing passengers - willing and able - to live in it for life. And it would be truly luxurious, as guests would be transported aboard the flying cruise by airliners and private jets, and then enter the Sky Cruise Hotel via an external elevator. On board, then, the lucky passengers will be awaited by every kind of comfort: a huge panoramic hall in the queue, accessible by dedicated elevators and capable of offering a 360-degree view of the skies, the huge atrium including shopping malls, restaurants, swimming pools, bars, gyms, cinemas, theaters, state-of-the-art medical facilities, spaces for public events and everything that offers the best luxury sea cruises - and beyond. At the moment there is only one other futuristic project that can at least be compared to the Sky Cruise Hotel, namely the G Train, which we present in this article.

The prices and launch date of the Sky Cruise Hotel

After talking about the technical specifications and comforts that the Sky Cruise Hotel - already nicknamed "Titanic of the sky" or "Flying Castle", also recalling the expression "palace on rails" used by the designer Thierry Gaugain for his already mentioned G Train - should be able to offer to passengers, now it’s time to address the issue of the possible price of the ticket to board and also the launch date of this incredible aircraft. Judging by the presentation of the project and the expected comforts for the passengers, the costs of implementation and the quality of the service should result in tickets with prices that are inaccessible, if not for very wealthy people. But, of course, any talk about the cost of the Sky Cruise Hotel ticket is pure speculation, as this flying luxury cruise doesn't exist yet. And some doubt it will ever exist.

If the creator Al-Gahili is convinced of the feasibility of his project, many skeptical comments on the Sky Cruise Hotel have also arrived from the network, not only with respect to the hypothesis of a very expensive ticket and only for a few people, but also with respect to the concept itself, considered by some not to be developed both for reasons related to aerodynamics (just think of the enormous weight that such a structure would have) and with respect to the possibility of developing a type of electrical power generated by nuclear energy such as that proposed by Al-Ghaili. However, the Yemeni popularizer is convinced that these technologies will exist and even anticipates a date: that of 2030. By 2030, in fact, it is expected that there will be small nuclear reactors capable of powering electric planes exploiting nuclear fusion. This hypothesis is based on research activities currently underway in both the UK and the US, but currently the Sky Cruise Hotel remains science fiction. That is why it is absolutely impossible to hypothesize both a launch date and, above all, the cost of the ticket to get on board this incredible flying luxury cruise. While waiting for a real airplane-hotel like the one designed by Al-Ghaili, it is still possible to "settle" for one of the best luxury cruises or, to stay within the skies, the best first-class flights in the world.

Interiors, prices and design of luxury prefabricated houses

Interiors, prices and design of luxury prefabricated houses

Prefabricated luxury houses are increasingly in vogue for their unique ability to combine design, comfort and high quality components. These homes also offer the guarantee of excellent energy performance, going in the direction of sustainability criteria and, at the same time, customization based on the needs of the owners.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

Prefabricated luxury houses: advantages and features

We have already dealt with the issue of luxury homes several times, especially with respect to how to best furnish a home of this type. In this article, however, after having already treated the topic of luxury mini houses, we will focus on luxury prefabricated houses, a very particular category of homes characterized by a strong ecological footprint that also aims to reduce consumption and environmental impact - therefore designed for sustainability -, but also by a wide possibility of customization and, above all, from the certainty of the implementation times, which are also reduced by about two thirds compared to those required by a normal home. In particular, the luxury prefabricated houses are modular designer apartments with fine finishes and cared for down to the smallest detail, thanks above all to a very high quality in the production of components, based on an automated process with practically no margins of error. The times required to complete the construction and deliver the house to the owners are in fact reduced thanks to the fact that all the components are already produced and prepared before the moment of excavation of the foundations, but above all pre-installed, especially as regards the external envelope, which already includes the electrical system in the walls. In this way, the time that elapses between the estimate and the delivery of the keys is always guaranteed and can be as little as 9 months - or, more realistically, a year -, therefore much less than the timing of a traditional house.

One of the points that could slow down the delivery is above all that relating to building permits, which we also address in our article on the renovation of a luxury home. Going into the specifics of luxury prefabricated houses, the latter stand out for their design, the quality of the materials chosen and the furnishings chosen for their interiors. Another element that makes a prefabricated house a luxury one are the technological aspects, starting from the very high level of energy performance and the possibility of managing all the components of the house and optimizing energy efficiency through home automation, which we present in another article specifically dedicated to the topic. Obviously, the home automation configuration can change the price, but also allow owners to activate, deactivate and adjust various aspects of the home directly from mobile devices such as remote controls or smartphones, via wireless protocols. This is why this building sector is able to offer, on the one hand, high-class and technological apartments, but also real luxury villas, thanks to the very wide possibility of customization offered by prefabricated buildings, guaranteed by the absence of urban and technical limitations. which allows you to design the home according to the tastes, needs and budget of the clients. For all these reasons - but not only, as we will see - luxury prefabricated houses are increasingly widespread in the real estate market and are destined to establish themselves more and more, thanks to the uniqueness of the advantages they offer.

The types of prefabricated luxury houses

The prefabricated luxury houses generally have very high quality interiors, but what distinguishes them is the choice of the main material, which can mainly be of three types: wood, concrete and steel. Here is a summary of the main features of each of these categories.

  • WOOD: Starting from the timing required for the habitability of a prefabricated wooden house, it can be said that from the date of the order, in the absence of hitches, it takes between nine and twelve months to enter the house. In addition to this, wood is an insulating material both at a thermal and acoustic level, guaranteeing excellent energy performance which, in some cases, also allows for a zero bill for heating, cooling and domestic hot water or even to produce more energy than necessary and zero emissions in the case of a correctly sized photovoltaic system. Wood is also light and resistant, has no time limits and above all guarantees all the comfort and quality typical of natural materials.
  • CONCRETE: Prefabricated concrete houses, on the other hand, above all guarantee efficiency and durability, given that concrete is both an insulating and non-perishable material, even in contexts of high humidity, resistant to corrosion by atmospheric agents thanks to the external concrete shell. Cement is also a guarantee against fires, it does not require frequent maintenance, it is ideal for the latest generation heaters that require mass to heat in winter and cool in summer. In addition to this, concrete guarantees excellent aesthetic possibilities and very high levels of both anti-seismic safety and energy efficiency. With respect to the construction times, it can be said that a prefabricated concrete house is habitable about seven months after the start of the works, but, in cases where the company that designs is the same that builds the house, it is possible to go down less than three months from excavation to construction for a villa of about 200 square meters with basement.
  • STEEL: The keywords of prefabricated steel houses are anti-seismic and eco-sustainability, but this type of housing also guarantees an unlimited duration and unparalleled resistance to seismic events. Steel is in fact resistant, light and flexible at the same time, guaranteeing a zero-degradation structure and latest generation casings, with dry systems, which offer thermal and acoustic insulation. With respect to the construction times of prefabricated steel houses, the crucial issue is the building permits, which can take eight or nine months, while the construction times of the house itself vary from about four to about six months. However, prefabricated steel houses are the top of the range as regards anti-seismic monitoring, protection from magnetic waves and radon gas, with almost no need for maintenance.

The prices of prefabricated luxury houses in Italy

Finally, it is time to move on to the prices of luxury prefabricated houses in Italy, where this market is growing sharply, as anticipated a few lines ago. The prices of prefabricated houses can vary according to various factors, such as the complexity of the project, the quantity and type of customizations, as well as the choice of the main material among the three analyzed above. Considering that the average price is between 1.500 and 2.000 euros per square meter, focusing on luxury homes the price rises to more than 2.000 euros per square meter, which is not very far from a high-end solution in traditional construction, and they vary mostly on the basis of furnishing solutions - especially in the case of design ones -, the choice of materials and the level of energy efficiency, which, as already noted, can go as far as zeroing the bill.

Starting then from the prefabricated wooden houses, the price obviously varies from the characteristics of the building, from the technological components and from the interior finishes, but the cost of a custom designed villa of about 200 square meters is attested around 400.000 euros for a service that it also includes foundations and connections. Moving on to luxury prefabricated concrete houses, the price range does not differ much from wooden ones, since it is between 1.500 and 1.800 euros per square meter. Finally, even the average cost of a prefabricated steel house is similar to that of a wooden or concrete house, since it can start from 1.200 euros per square meter, up to around 1.450 euros, for a villa that exceeds 200 square meters, or even 1.600 euros for a house of about 110 square meters, referring to a luxury villa equipped with home automation.

All about the new hydrogen ships of Fincantieri and Explora Journeys

All about the new hydrogen ships of Fincantieri and Explora Journeys

The last frontier of cruises are the new hydrogen ships of the luxury brand Explora Journeys by MSC Crociere, designed to reach the zero emissions goal, exploiting various environmental and naval technologies to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and thanks to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) power supply.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

Here are the new MSC hydrogen ships

In our article dedicated to the best luxury cruises sailing this year, we focused on the best tours to try in 2022, on the news related to luxury cruises for the current season and on the prices of some of the most exclusive packages. This time we want instead to present a technological aspect related to cruises that will certainly be essential in terms of the environmental impact of these huge ships. The expected innovations regarding the cruises of the future are related to their energy supply, for which the goal is to reach zero emissions as soon as possible. MSC Crociere is traveling rapidly in this direction, as evidenced by the order just sent to Fincantieri for two new hybrid-powered ships, including hydrogen power supply.

In fact, we already highlighted how Explora Journeys, the new luxury brand launched by MSC Crociere, includes the latest environmental and naval technologies to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, even in port, thanks to plug-in shore power connectors, as well as high energy efficiency on-board equipment to optimize the use of engines and underwater noise management systems to protect marine fauna. In addition, the company has started building two ships with engines powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). The latter represents in fact a hydrocarbon with a purer combustion - therefore more efficient -, being essentially methane, whose temperature is lowered until it reaches the liquid state, so as to allow it to be stored and used more safely and efficiently, reducing emissions of greenhouse gasses and simultaneously increasing the energy density obtained.

The two Explora Journeys hydrogen-powered ships

The latest news related to this energy efficiency path for MSC Crociere luxury ships is the very recent signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Fincantieri and Explora Journeys for the construction of two new hydrogen ships that would increase the number of ships from four to six of the new luxury cruise brand. Unlike what was anticipated, Explora III and IV will be powered by liquefied natural gas, although they were initially designed with traditional engines. To allow the installation of the LNG system, these two ships have been enlarged by approximately 19 meters, with an investment of an additional 120 million euros for each and a consequent extension of delivery times. However, this also offered the possibility of improving onboard hospitality, introducing new spacious and luxurious Ocean Residences as well as larger shared areas. Returning to the technological aspect, it should be said that liquefied natural gas is the cleanest marine fuel currently available on a large scale, being able to almost completely eliminate local emissions of atmospheric pollutants such as sulfur oxides (99%), nitrogen oxides (85%) and particles (98%), making it capable of reducing CO2 emissions by up to 25% compared to standard marine fuels.

But MSC Crociere has even more ambitious plans, given that even the Explora V and VI ships will have new generation LNG engines and a liquid hydrogen collection system that will make it possible to exploit this low-carbon fuel. As explained in the MoA note, hydrogen will power a 6 megawatt fuel cell to produce emission-free energy that will be used for hotel areas and to allow ships to operate with zero emissions in port, that is, with engines off. MSC Crociere' forecasts are to be able to make the two new hydrogen ships available to the public in 2027 and 2028 respectively, which will make the total investment to build the entire Explora Journeys fleet amount to 3,5 billion euros. Finally, as already mentioned, another great novelty for 2022 is the launch by MSC Crociere of the Norwegian Prima luxury cruise, the next generation flagship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which will set sail in the United Arab Emirates in the winter with weekly cruises from Dubai and will be joined, over the next few years, by six sisters.

All about luxury ships and cruises

We have already presented the details of the ExpIora Journeys line, so it will suffice to add that the first ship of this fleet of luxury cruises will have only suites (461), as well as four swimming pools (three outdoor and one indoor with glass roof), various areas lounges, areas dedicated to fitness and even ten bars on board. The Explore I will accommodate 900 passengers, providing them with an area of approximately 2.500 square meters. Also expected in 2022 is the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection cruise, ocean division of the well-known luxury hotel chain - which we present in another article - and Aranui in the splendid waters of French Polynesia, which offers eleven different types of cabins, all very large and decorated with locally grown flowers. Another novelty of 2022 is the Carnival Celebration fun ship which will be available to 264 guests, distributed in 132 spacious cabins (all with private balconies overlooking the sea), also the first roller coaster on board a cruise ship, six different areas themed and much more.

Is it enough? This luxury cruise also includes a fleet of Zodiacs, two luxurious submarines - which are the topic of a dedicated article - battery powered, capable of reaching the depth of 300 meters with embroidered leather interior upholstery, Bluetooth technology and a minibar for Champagne. But there are also other luxury cruises that guarantee maximum relaxation in breathtaking environments, as well as ensuring very elegant interiors and a very high quality treatment in terms of food and entertainment. Here is a selection:

  • Scenic Eclipse: This cruise offers a 19-day tour featuring five-star suites, submarine excursions, Antarctica ski sessions and onboard helicopters to reach the mountain peaks.
  • Belmond Afloat: The most elegant river barge ever allows you to navigate the most beautiful canals in France and let yourself be lulled by unrivaled wine regions such as Burgundy, Champagne and Provence.
  • Prana of Atzaró: This luxury cruise is a hand-built phinisi of approximately 55 meters, with a capacity of eighteen passengers, distributed in nine luxury suites, taken care of by a crew of eighteen.
  • Ecoventura: The Relais & Chateaux cruise is a boutique boat with a maximum capacity of twenty passengers, who have the opportunity to immerse themselves in unspoiled nature, with excursions to uninhabited islands, giant tortoises, penguins and sea lions.
  • Virgin Voyages: The new ship Scarlet Lady of this company will host 2.770 passengers, for a tour lasting four and five days in the seas of Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

When furnishing a luxury bathroom, the first aspect to consider is the choice of materials, which represent a decisive element in creating an exclusive and classy environment. An example of trendy materials for the bathroom are bronze or onyx, increasingly in vogue to give a touch of novelty in respect to traditional materials, even if the luxury material par excellence remains marble, especially if two-tone or combined with elegant furniture in shades of black.

The latest trends in design also enhance the choice of gold, ideal for making the bathroom elegant and luxurious, both in terms of furniture - finishes and inserts - and in terms of surfaces - gold coatings. Moving on to the elements that make up the bathroom, a classic piece of luxury furniture is the bathtub. The latter can in fact transform a normal bathroom into a luxury bathroom, if it is a whirlpool tub, preferably with fine finishes in teak or wengé wood and characterized by latest generation technologies, such as the infinity overflow, to immerse yourself in the tub filled with water, or the heater, to keep the temperature constant. All in the name of comfort. Moving on to the choice of furniture for a luxury bathroom, the ideal is to focus on modern and minimal bathroom furniture, preferably made with quality materials such as chestnut or oak wood, without neglecting the options offered by innovative materials. Finally, a useful element to make the bathroom luxurious are the linen sets proposed by designers and fashion brands, made of fine fabrics and finished with classy details.

Modern and classic luxury bathrooms

Focusing on the styles to furnish a luxury bathroom, it is appropriate to distinguish between the classic and the modern one. As anticipated, the choice of the style of furniture for a luxury bathroom must respect that of the style selected for furnishing the whole house, with some small precautions. Starting from a modern house, this too can be furnished in a luxurious way, although these houses usually prefer simple and geometric shapes. Consequently, even the furnishing of a luxury bathroom in a modern home has to be minimal and at the same time elegant, with classy furniture, which however does not include sophisticated elements or luxurious materials. A modern luxury bathroom is characterized in fact by the maximum cleanliness of the lines and functionality, to be combined with the latest technologies and innovative materials, which however must also harmonize with more natural elements, such as wood and stone, often handcrafted. Here, luxury furniture in a modern bathroom is rather configured as the right mix of the most modern technologies, which ensure maximum comfort, and classy elements.

So even the furniture will have to harmonize a modern design with the elegance that characterizes luxury homes. Moving on to the chromatic aspect, modern luxury homes often include brightness and bold combinations, even between bright colors and neutral colors, which will therefore also be proposed in the bathroom. The furnishing of a luxury bathroom in a classic style home, on the other hand, must be elegant and, at the same time, also appear expensive and sumptuous, through the use of precious materials, as well as reflecting the refined taste and the socioeconomic status of the owners. A luxury bathroom furnished in a classic style favors beauty over functionality, luxury over simplicity. These rooms can even be traced back to the ancient homes of the nobles, with high quality and opulent decorative materials. The expensive elements of classic design also include ceramic pieces, marble or parquet floors, silk curtains and high quality linen sets in the bathroom furnishings. All characterized by refined lines, where light and neutral colors dominate.

Small luxury bathrooms

Even in a luxury home it may happen that the space available for the bathroom - or perhaps for one of the bathrooms - is not so large. But even small spaces can be luxurious and elegant with the right attention. For example, you can follow different strategies to make the room seem larger than its real size, thanks to optical or light effects. In addition to that, there are also various luxurious and very high quality solutions that can perfectly adapt even to small spaces. Starting from the techniques to be used to generate the effect of enlarging the spaces, a first idea is to insert a large mirror in the room, which will increase the perception of the size of the room in proportion to its surface. Another solution is to keep the furniture elements of the luxury bathroom suspended, fixing them to the walls, allowing the eye to see the surface of the floor in all its width.

Moving on to the shower, it is possible to save space both with a floor-level shower and with a corner shower. But the eye can also be tricked with the choice of colors for the luxury bathroom. In fact, light shades - including shades of white - are ideal for visually enlarging spaces, both as regards the floor and the walls and the various elements of the bathroom furniture, preferably bright. Finally, moving on to the choice of materials, even in a small luxury bathroom the coverings must be precious, therefore in resin or marble, perhaps accompanied by other precious materials to be used for decorative elements and furniture. Finally, if the environment available for the luxury bathroom offers this possibility, also the choice of a window with a panoramic view or a stained glass window that allows you to see the location surrounding the house - especially in the case of villas by the sea, which we present more in depth in this article -, it is an excellent solution to make the bathroom truly elegant and classy.

Everything you need to know about luxury paintings

Everything you need to know about luxury paintings

Choosing a luxury painting is always a good idea to enhance the entire home decor and in particular the living room in a home that wants to be elegant and classy. From the attention to the choice of styles and lines, to uniformity with the design style of the house, to the selection of dimensions and the evaluation of prices: let's take a look at luxury paintings.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

Luxury paintings to decorate the home

The furnishing of luxury homes is a theme that we have addressed, on a more general level, in a dedicated article, but this time we will focus specifically on luxury paintings, which must be in line with the style chosen to furnish the entire home, to give the letter a truly unique touch of class and elegance. The paintings are an ideal piece of furniture for all environments, and in particular for the living room - to which we have reserved a dedicated article -, in case you want to introduce an intellectual and classy element to the room. In general, the choice of artistic installations aimed at creating a refined and elegant environment is also useful for giving greater identity to the whole design of the house. Just like luxury sofas, which we talk about in another article, even luxury paintings, in fact, immediately become a central element in the environment in which they are installed, obviously also based on their location and the combination with the other elements of furniture.

The different styles of the paintings, as well as the styles of furniture, are essential to guarantee a recognizable personality to the rooms. In addition to this, it is essential to pay the utmost attention to the choice of combinations between the shades and colors used both for the furniture and for the subjects of the paintings, with the aim of finding installations that act as glue between the walls and the furnishing elements. Alternatively, you can also choose to break the homogeneity of a room, inserting a painting that differs in style and color from the rest of the environment, but, even in this case, it is necessary to be balanced to impress guests without giving the impression that there was no creative thought behind the choice. Two other important variables related to luxury paintings for the home are their location - some installations can even be placed on the floor or on a shelf - and the dimensions - which can vary and allow you to choose whether to place them in the foreground or in less central areas.

The ideal paintings for a modern luxury living room

Focusing on the heart of the home - that is, on the luxury living room - and on the latest trends in interior design - therefore on the modern style -, we can say that the most appreciated luxury paintings at the moment are those of a minimal type, therefore sober and essential. Paintings for a modern luxury living room can therefore be abstract works or even photographs, also modified to make them unique. A classic type of modern living room is the luxury open space - to which we have dedicated an article -, in which the spaces and walls available for displaying paintings certainly leave a wide choice, as well as the possibility of dedicating even an entire wall to a single art installation. Focusing on a minimalist style - which we presented in relation to the furnishing of a minimal luxury home -, which includes simple and essential furniture and lines, it can be said that in this context the choice of a luxury painting certainly adds an element of personality and dynamism to the environment.

However, these paintings must have simple lines, accurate details and neutral colors, thus avoiding bright or too bright shades. The case of luxury paintings with a vintage character is different, which will have to refer mainly to works from the last century, or even to previous eras, but without ever generating the effect of a museum or an exhibition. Installations that refer to street art or even nature are preferable. In fact, luxury paintings with naturalistic subjects fall within an area that could be defined as typical: the beauties of nature, if in line with the style of the modern living room in terms of colors and lines, always offer an elegant solution capable of being also appreciated by eyes less accustomed to the world of art.

The prices of luxury paintings

We close this journey through luxury paintings to furnish the home by trying to identify a price range for the purchase of these works. To answer the question of how much it costs to buy one of these paintings, it is first necessary to specify that the answer is very variable based on the size, the techniques used, the difficulty of the subject and, obviously, also the artist, or the studio, who has made the picture. The starting cost for a luxury painting can be a few hundred euros - basically around 700 to 1.000 euros, if made by emerging artists or design studios -, but it can go up to thousands or tens of thousands of euros, in the case of particularly complex or large works of art, but also of installations created by already famous artists and designers.

To get a more detailed idea on the subject, you can take a tour of the PiazzArt website, a marketplace dedicated to the sale of works of art, including museum ones and produced by famous names such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalì or Andy Warhol. Alternatively, the GALP - Galleria La Pera portal, dedicated to the online sale of works of art, is certainly a good reference for getting a clearer idea of the prices and types of luxury paintings on the market. At this point, you just have to choose the style and colors that are most suitable for the artistic installation that can give a touch of class and elegance to the luxury living room of your home.

Luxury aromas: brands and costs of the most expensive perfumes in the world

Luxury aromas: brands and costs of the most expensive perfumes in the world

When can a perfume be defined as a luxury one? Which are the most exclusive in the world? And what are the best luxury fragrance brands? Here is the ranking of the most expensive perfumes in the world, both for men and women, and the list of the best brands.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

All about luxury perfumes

Perfumes are a decisive element for those who want to convey the elegance of their tastes and, at the same time, the care they devote to their image. A luxury perfume, for both men and women, is an article that enhances the style of the wearer and denotes their elegance. In addition to this, the right perfume is also the worthy completion of clothing, accompanying it and emphasizing its class. In particular, luxury perfumes are defined by specific characteristics that make them such, therefore also very expensive. Luxury perfumes are characterized above all by their rarity, being often produced in limited editions, and by the fact that they are only available in some authorized perfumeries.

Furthermore, these fragrances are durable, resistant and keep their quality unchanged over time, thanks to an artisanal production, which involves a long period of infusion of the aromas in the alcoholic solution. These qualities obviously make luxury perfumes also expensive, often with very high prices, also due to the value of the raw materials that compose them. This is why some perfumes, both for men and women, are very expensive and truly exclusive, just like some models of luxury watches, which we present in a dedicated article, or luxury bags produced by the most famous fashion brands.

The most expensive men's perfumes

Starting with the most expensive men's perfumes in the world, we offer you a selection of some fragrances with very high prices, in some cases even thousands of euros. These are perfumes produced by the most famous brands, being at the top for their quality, but also contained in bottles with a unique design and made of precious materials. This is why these products can be defined as real luxury perfumes. Like the Lalique for Bentley, covered with a cap that takes the shape of the "B" with the wings of an eagle, or the symbol of the famous British car producer Bentley, already mentioned in our article dedicated to luxury cars. The bottle, then, is made of crystal, for a total price of over 3.000 euros for 50 ml of perfume.

For about 650 euros, however, you can buy Clive Christian's N.1 Pure Parfum (of which there is also a version designed for women), characterized by aromas such as Tahitian vanilla, centifolia rose and Indian jasmine. Moving on to the Imperial Emerald EDP from the brand The Merchant of Venice, the price drops to "only" 265 euros for 50 ml of perfume, also due to the bottle made of Murano glass and decorated with the colors of the peacock. To close this list of the most expensive men's luxury perfumes, it is worth mentioning the Creed Aventus, characterized by an intense and lasting fragrance, enclosed in a flask-shaped bottle. The price? Around 250 euros for a 50ml bottle.

The most expensive women's perfumes in the world

The time has come to move on to a selection of the most exclusive and expensive luxury perfumes for women, for which there is plenty of choice. In fact, there are many elegant and refined feminine fragrances, made for collectors and perfume lovers. Obviously, even the bottles of the most expensive women's perfumes are design ones, in some cases artistic, and made of precious materials, to contain unique, persistent and refined aromas. One of these is Joy by Jean Patou, produced in only 50 copies a year worldwide, making it more unique than rare. Its bottle is rectangular, characterized by minimal and elegant lines, and covered by a golden cap, for a price of around 1.500 euros.

Moving on to the very famous Hermès perfume brand, one of the flagships of the French maison is certainly 24 Faubourg, of which only a thousand bottles have been produced, all rectangular and with a simple taste, with a gold-colored cap and an orange "sunset" package, which increases its elegance. To buy an example of this luxury perfume, you need around 1.500 euros, although the most complicated task is to find one available. In this list of the most expensive women's luxury perfumes, the best known brand in the sector could not be missing, namely Chanel. In particular, the perfume N.5 Grand Extrait is a variant of the famous fragrance, but even more intense and contained in a 225 ml bottle, costing 4.200 euros.

Luxury perfumes: niche fragrances

In the world there are several brands that produce luxury perfumes, therefore there are also many models and precious pieces with a very high commercial value. The most expensive perfumes are truly niche fragrances, often characterized by their rarity, very high quality, durability and the uniqueness of the packages that contain them. The latter are design bottles contained in well-kept boxes, designed by artists, decorated with precious materials or even coated with gems. One such collector's item is DKNY's Golden Delicious Million Dollar Fragrance Bottle, a fragrance contained in a round shaped bottle covered with 2.909 precious stones from around the world (Brazilian tourmaline, pink diamonds from Australia, sapphires and other types of rare diamonds set in white and yellow gold), which reflect the unmistakable skyline of New York. This veritable work of art was sold, just as the name indicates, for a million dollars.

But there is an even more expensive perfume, namely Shumukh, created by Spirit of Dubai Perfumes in the United Arab Emirates, after three years of research, which led to a unique fragrance contained in a 197 cm bottle. The price? One and a half million euros. Coming down considerably in price, we find the Clive Christian Imperial Jubilee, whose 28 ml bottle costs “only” 12.000 euros, also due to the precious glass and the golden cap with diamonds. Finally, we want to close this review with Les Larmes Sac De Terre by Baccarat, sold at 6.800 euros per bottle and characterized by the famous crystals that form the bottle and the cap. In short, they can not be compared to luxury products as the most expensive diamonds in the world - which we present in another article -, but also the most expensive perfumes on the planet are truly exclusive items and… only for a few!

Luxury just a click away: here are the Amazon Luxury Stores

The luxury market lands on Amazon thanks to Amazon Luxury Stores, which have also brought luxury brands to the world of e-commerce, confirming the expansion of the high-end goods market also in the digital world. Let's find out more about the Amazon Luxury Stores and the luxury brands that have already seized this opportunity.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

Amazon Luxury Stores: what they are and how they work

Among the most relevant innovations in the luxury market is certainly the launch by Amazon of the Amazon Luxury Stores, an exclusive area of the platform made available only to some Prime subscribers in the USA. Thanks to this new function, high fashion brands will be able to show their garments through 360-degree interactive content via the View in 360 mode, allowing users to view details like never before. Each fashion brand will be able to manage its own online store, through a digital showcase, where products and prices can be displayed. With this choice, Amazon definitively lands in the high fashion sector, on the one hand, while on the other hand, luxury brands will have the opportunity to expand their range of potential customers and strengthen their digital marketing, increasingly central in any sector.

The note published by Amazon talks about "making luxury shopping easier and more engaging", but the Amazon Luxury Stores will also make it possible to guarantee greater tracking on products thanks to the standards of the American giant, given that the collections are sold directly by fashion brands or individual designers. And above all for the degree of reliability of Amazon, which, in a recent report, emphasizes that it has invested more than 900 million dollars through the work of over 12,000 in the fight against counterfeiting. Amazon Luxury Stores have definitely brought luxury to the e-commerce planet in the US and are about to do so in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The Seattle-based company says it wants to "offer more choice to customers in Europe", obviously taking advantage of the exponential growth of digital purchases in the fashion and luxury sectors, which should reach 30% of the segment's total sales by 2025, according to Altagamma estimates.

What are the luxury brands present in the Amazon Luxury Stores?

Amazon Luxury Stores are in fact only present in the US market at the moment, so even the brands present are not yet the most famous in the world of high fashion. Currently, among the best known names are those of Oscar De La Renta, promoted by Cara Delevingne, Christopher Kane, Rodarte, Peter Dundas, Elie Saab, Mira Mikati, Rianna+Nina, Boglioli, Jonathan Cohen, Altuzarra, but not only. But obviously the introduction of Amazon Luxury Stores also in Europe will lead to the launch on Amazon of brands originating from other countries besides the US, starting with the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

To name two names on the Italian fashion scene, Boglioli and Missoni should be among the first brands to launch on Amazon. Obviously, the goal of Amazon Luxury Stores is to attract as many brands as possible from the world of luxury fashion, so as to increase the overall induced by Amazon e-commerce and exponentially increase earnings. Suffice it to say that two garments with Milanese showroom prices have already been put on sale in the US: a dress designed by Elie Saab at a cost of $ 13,000 and another by Peter Dundas for $ 5,300.

Luxury goods protagonists in the metaverse

The Amazon Luxury Stores represent another step in the direction of digitization which, as happens in any other sector, is also involving that of luxury. In addition to the definitive passage into the world of e-commerce via Amazon by fashion and high-end brands in general, many of these have already launched into the virtual world market, the metaverse. They also include Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Moncler, but also Hugo Boss, Etro, Giuseppe Zanotti, Hogan, Tommy Hilfiger and Philipp Plein, who have brought the market of luxury clothes and the most exclusive accessories into a virtual world that already sees many VIPs involved in the purchase of virtual products signed by famous brands.

A trend that is also occurring in the real estate field, as we write in an article on the luxury real estate market in the virtual world. For the uninitiated, the first Metaverse Fashion Week has also recently taken place, which we will talk about in another dedicated article. The luxury goods segment has grown in the virtual world in recent months and, according to an estimate by the lender Morgan Stanley, will represent more than 10% of the luxury goods market by 2030, for a figure that is around 45 billion euros compared to the more than 400 total for the sector. Fashion and luxury are therefore expected to be among the fastest growing segments in the metaverse, where there are more and more buyers ready to open their virtual wallets.

Luxury and design meet in Milan: Fuorisalone 2022

The 2022 edition of the Fuorisalone has made even more evident the already very strong link between the world of luxury and that of design. The set of collateral events at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan was also very rich this year, with exhibitions, initiatives and exhibitions also by the most famous fashion brands: let's find out more about the 2022 edition of the Fuorisalone.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

What is the Milan Fuorisalone?

The Fuorisalone is the set of events that take place every year in Milan at the same time as the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, during the so-called Design Week. The protagonist of the Milanese Fuorisalone is in fact design in all its facets, starting from those most closely linked to the specifically industrial sector, in particular that of interior design, to the collateral areas relating to fashion and art. The Fuorisalone is not a real fair, unlike the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, therefore it is not organized by central bodies or bodies, but directly by companies and producers who want to showcase their work in a privileged setting such as that of Design Week. After the cancellation of 2020 and the reduced edition of 2021, the event has once again seen a massive participation by fashion and luxury companies this year.

The event was born spontaneously at the beginning of the Eighties on the initiative of realities from the furniture and industrial design sector, but it was then extended to companies that deal with design in other areas as well, such as fashion, entertainment, communication, marketing and so on. The Fuorisalone can therefore be defined as a set of collateral events at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, organized and promoted independently by the individual companies in the center of Milan, where the showrooms of the various producers, the shops of the high fashion brands and the of the Milanese nightlife. Over the years, the event has expanded to become an international custom, attracting visitors, sponsors and companies from all over the world. This year, Fuorisalone 2022 was held from 7 to 12 June and, as always, brought with it many events and exhibitions, many of which also focused on fashion and organized by leading brands in the luxury sector.

Fuorisalone 2022: the event between design and luxury

The 2022 edition of the Milan Fuorisalone confirmed the very close link between the most famous and established luxury fashion brands and the world of design in general. In fact, in addition to the return in attendance after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan this year saw the return as protagonists of the home collections designed by fashion brands. In addition to the companies that showcase the new furniture collections between Rho Fiera Milano and the downtown showrooms, many brands in the luxury fashion sector were also central to the Fuorisalone, confirming the fruitful relationship between fashion and design, confirmed by the '' large presence of fashion and luxury brands. In fact, high-end furniture is now very widespread even among high-end clothing brands, although it has not represented a very profitable segment in the past. According to the most recent Bain-Altagamma report (end of 2020), however, the sector grew by 13-15% between 2020 and 2021 and, overall, by 6-8% in the two-year period 2019-2021, reaching 45 billion euro as an overall induced by the sector, or the highest value in the context of personal luxury goods.

The growth of the segment was also favored by the increasingly close link between design and the luxury market, as demonstrated by the openings around Europe of the Forlì Luxury Living Group, which include the brand's home furnishings collections. in fashion like Versace, Trussardi and Dolce & Gabbana. The group, during 2021, previously also had the license of Fendi Casa, which then entered into a joint venture with Design Holding, a group that had a turnover of 700 million euros in 2021. But Giorgio Armani was not far behind. In fact, the Armani Casa novelties, an area created in 2000, were exhibited in the Milanese spaces of the Armani Silos. The best luxury cars interiors

Luxury cars have always been a symbol of elegance and richness, but, at the same time, they also bring together the best of the technological avant-garde in terms of engines and, above all, of comfort. In another article we focus specifically on sports cars, therefore on propulsion, speed, acceleration and other technical specifications related to the engine. This time, however, we will focus on the comforts offered by their interiors and… on their mind-boggling prices. Starting with the interiors of luxury cars, it is worth mentioning the latest Range Rover line, which offers spacious interiors, which guarantee quality and luxury, with very comfortable seats and a driving position designed to make the car comfortable to drive despite its size. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, on the other hand, is one of the most comfortable, enveloping and elegant cars on the market, thanks also to the innovative entertainment solutions for the rear seats and the possibility of requesting seats with massage, both front and rear.

Staying at Mercedes, but moving to the electric EQS model, the interior of this luxury car offers a full-width digital dashboard of the latest generation, ideal for drivers who love touchscreen electronics. Moving to Bavaria, we find the interior of the BMW 7 Series, with its sense of space, solidity and comfort, which can be compared in quality to that of another German excellence, the Audi A8. Also at Audi, the interior of the Q8 guarantees comfortable spaces, comfort and elegance of the highest level, as well as a unique driving experience, thanks to its handling and safety. The Lexus LS also offers interiors unmatched in quality, with a mix of luxury and modern style, which make them out of the ordinary, especially in one of its four types of trim, equipped with refined materials and elegant finishes. Another luxury car model that shines for the quality of its interiors is the Maserati Quattroporte, in whose passenger compartment it seems to be sitting in a luxury living room, similar to what happens with the interiors of some luxury campers, which we present in a dedicated article.

Luxury cars: the best brands

Talking about luxury cars, there are some brands that represent a guarantee in terms of quality and elegance, so that they are also the producers of the most expensive models in the world - but we will focus on prices later. In respect to luxury car brands, we will start with Italian excellences, namely Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Pagani, whose sports supercars populate the dreams of lovers of the genre. Remaining in Italy, there are also some Alfa Romeo models that fall under the category of luxury cars, such as the Giulia GTA, which we will talk about again later.

Leaving the Italian territory and moving on to England, home to some of the very first cars in history, luxury on four wheels is above all called Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Lotus, all brands known above all for the class and elegance of their models, also chosen by the British royal family and, in general, by anyone who wants to show off their economic availability and to travel in comfortable means like a room in one of the best luxury hotels in the world. From Great Britain it is almost obvious to go to Germany, where we find some of the most famous technical and stylistic excellence in the automotive field: we are talking about Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Audi, known all over the world for the quality of the engines, first of all, and for the technological avant-garde of its models. To close this list of the best luxury car brands, it is also worth mentioning the American Tesla, which, in recent years, has been making more and more space in the sector, with its high-end electric cars, both in terms of technology and elegance and comfort.

How to rent a luxury car

Luxury cars are obviously not affordable for all budgets. And then: why buy a supercar model, when it is possible to drive them all? These are two of the considerations that make renting a luxury car a more than valid option for those who want to drive one of these jewels on four wheels without necessarily having to buy it. Using the single day and the weekend as parameters, let's try to find out what are the best methods and the costs for renting a luxury car. First of all, as regards the most famous car manufacturers, the ideal is to contact the relevant dealerships directly, especially when it comes to Ferrari and Lamborghini, but also Porsche, Aston Martin or Maserati. Alternatively, there are several car rental companies that also include lines dedicated specifically to luxury models, which are easy to find online via the websites of the car rental companies themselves. Renting a luxury car also provides slightly different methods from those of a normal rental. For example, these types of cars are paid based on mileage, while some even pay based on minutes of use - not per day, like normal cars - or, perhaps with tariff plans designed specifically for weekends.

Moving on to some concrete examples, a Ferrari 458 Spider can cost between 1.500 and 1.800 euros per day, generally for a rental of at least two days, with the possibility of lowering the daily price for multi-day options (for example, the entire weekend can cost around 3.500 euros). It is important to specify that these rentals also require the commitment of fairly demanding deposits, which generally exceed 15.000 euros. It is also possible to rent a Lamborghini Huracan always for a figure that is around 1.700 euros per day and reaches around 3.400 euros in total for a weekend. An Aston Martin DB9 Volante, on the other hand, costs “only” 1.335 per day and about double for the entire weekend. In short, there is no shortage of options, but the characteristics of renting a luxury car are very similar regardless of the company and model, which only affects the price. An important note about renting a supercar is that a driver's age of over 21 is almost always required, but, in many cases, it is necessary to be at least 30 years of age and have been in possession of a driving license for at least three years to rent a luxury car.
